Our society often emphasizes that in order to achieve something, you have to pay the cost for that endeavor. We’re told that certain sacrifices are necessary while pursuing our ideal lives. If we want to progress in our careers, we have to limit our social lives and neglect the people we care about. If we want to establish a business or personal project, we need to give up the majority of our time to focus on that. As a result, we give up our time, energy, and ultimately our overall health.

The best investment we can make in ourselves is our mental and physical health. It is the basis for everything we need to function and be happy in life. Without these elements, there is no stability. We have to ask ourselves why we feel we need to compromise our health to live a better life. This starts with evaluating different areas of our lives and where our health can improve, and advocating for those changes.

What attitudes do you hold toward yourself that can be improved?

One of the most important qualities to consider when pursuing your goals is your self-confidence. You need to know you’re capable of doing everything you aim to do, and seeing for yourself everything you see for yourself. If you feel insecure or inadequate, it won’t help you maintain a positive attitude when working toward your goals.

What is the energy you receive from the people you interact with?

The exchange of energy can be positive or negative. The people you’re surrounded by can highly influence your perspective of life. Preferably, the people around you will lift you up and encourage you to move in the right direction. Those with negative energy will cast doubt over your beliefs and belittle your dreams. Remove them expeditiously.

What are you consuming, and how does it alter your mindset?

The videos and images we consume through social media and other platforms can have an effect on how we see the world. Given that we consume way more than should be possible in a given time period, the messaging matters. Curate your media sources so that they are informative and inspiring, not distracting.

What are your limits?

While some people might claim they can function on only a few hours of sleep, that doesn’t mean it applies to you. Others might be able to work endlessly for hours. It doesn’t mean you should. Determine your own limits and work around them.

Is there anything you feel you need to abstain from?

Evaluate your bad habits that could be affecting your physical health. This could result in you altering your diet or your exercise routine. Maybe you want to limit your alcohol intake. Sometimes managing your health means taking things away instead of adding more.

All of these elements have an impact on your overall health, and they are things you are able to control. If your routine is not sustainable, it will be even more difficult for you to create the life you strive for. You might crash without even realizing it was going to happen.
